Sedation is the introduction of the patient's body into a state of rest and relaxation. This is not anesthetic or general anesthesia. The oxygen (O2) and nitrous oxide (N2O) penetrate into the body with helping of inhaling mask. As a result the patient falling into in a state of rest and relaxation. During sedation the patient is conscious and the sense of reality does not change.

For general anesthesia needs backup personnel: а dental nurse and an anesthesiologist with a valid license to use narcotic drugs. There are many contraindications for the use of general anesthesia. There are complications after recovery. During sedation all reflexes that the patient loses during general anesthesia are preserved: relaxation of skeletal muscles, loss of reflexes, sleepiness, dullness of the central nervous system.

In the course of manipulations, there are 2-4 medical workers in the dentist’s room. This means that during the whole treatment your state will be under full control of at least one expert (the other medical staff will be busy with direct treatment).
