Implantation of anterior teeth

What are the features of the implantation of the anterior group of teeth, i.e. in the frontal area?

This zone can be called a zone of increased requirements for aesthetics, and there cannot be any mistake. The wrong step in treatment can lead to a number of additional costs.

For example, if without a masticatory tooth the patient can still postpone treatment (the tooth, more precisely its absence is not especially visible), then at loss of a tooth in a front side, the patient tries to make an appointment to the dentist to solve a problem as soon as possible sometimes even at night.

It is impossible to get a positive aesthetic result without accurate implant planning, accurate diagnosis and skill of the doctor. The beauty of a smile depends on it. We use modern quality materials that are almost inert to the patient when installing dentures and bioactive when implanted.

We spend a lot of time and money on the courses of the world's leading implantologists and the latest equipment. Furthermore, we try to keep up with the times, and if we succeed, we are even ahead of it.

To achieve high aesthetic results, it is desirable to install the implant using a simultaneous method (removal of a tooth with simultaneous implantation and installation of a temporary crown), and immediate fixation of the temporary PMMA crown. This will secure the bone tissue and provide the aesthetics (smile line), i.e., gums.

It is critical to insert the implant with a clearly defined force (torque) and at the correct angle. That is, when installing the implant, it is necessary to feel sharply the resistance of the bone. This feeling  comes only with experience. Otherwise, it will not be possible to install a crown on it immediately, and for further restoration of the bone and gingival margin, plastic will be needed, which means much more time and money.

From our own experience, we can say that implantation in the frontal region is much more difficult and interesting, since this work requires extreme precision, planning skills and the ability to see a long-term result, as well as special (individual) skills.

How much does an anterior tooth implant cost?

The cost of dental implantation starts from 600 euros. This includes:

  • an individual set “Anti AIDS”
  • removal of a tooth
  • implant
  • temporary crown
  • temporary abutment
  • anesthesia.

This is the cost of a complex tooth implantation with all the necessary manipulations.

Sometimes there are additional costs: bone substitute (from 100 euros), membranes (from 80 euros). They are used when there is not enough volume of a patient's bone, and we need to augment this area to install bone grafting.

During implantation, the implant should be installed from a smaller diameter and placed a few millimeters below the bone level in order to obtain a good result of white (dental) and pink (gum) smiles in the future. This will save the doctor's time and the patient's money in the future, since there will be no need to perform gum plastic surgery.

We work with the best Swiss dental implant companies, which have been producing them for over 20 years and are time-tested. These companies have their own implant manufacturing plants. We also offer patients a low-budget option that has proven itself well – for example, dental implants from the Korean manufacturer Dentis.

We are trying to cooperate with companies that give a real guarantee for their product. However, whichever system you choose, a lot depends on the specialist, the patient's body and the implementation of all the doctor's recommendations.

Let's go back to placing the crown on the implant. This can be done in one visit, but not in all cases. If there are contraindications (narrow crest, lack of normal bone volume, etc.), so that the patient is not without a tooth, we install a retainer (a temporary tooth) instead of the crown, which is fixed on the adjacent teeth and does not damage soft tissues. This temporary prosthesis has worked well. It fills in the dentition and looks good.

Is it possible the implant has not taken root? What are the complications with this?

In fact, implants can be rejected for various reasons as we introduce a foreign body into the human body. The doctor should not be afraid to tell this to the patient. Many rejections occur as a result of non-compliance with the doctor's recommendations, very poor hygiene, etc. In our center, implants take root in 95-97% of cases.

In addition, a lot depends on the quality of the upper part of the implant tooth, that is, the abutment, and the crown (the part that is screwed to the implant). It should be extremely accurate, without overhanging the gums and preferably using custom abutments (made of zirconia). This will avoid visible gray discoloration in the cervical region of the anterior tooth, as the standard titanium abutment is visible through the gum.

What about anterior bone grafting?

When a tooth is removed, the bone tissue is almost always removed. Especially when the patient has been missing a tooth for a long time or was lost as a result of trauma. That is why we recommend that you do not rush to remove the tooth, but first consult with an implantologist to determine the sequence of procedures and help you save the bone and your budget.

Implantation is usually performed simultaneously, but with bone grafting. This saves time and effort for the patient, as well as maintains the shape of the gums, which is critical for an aesthetic result.

Do I need to take special care of the implants in the anterior region?

Care for anterior implants should be the same as for your teeth or implants in other areas of your mouth. It is imperative to visit the hygienist every six months, as well as come for an examination. And, of course, follow the doctor's recommendations: at first, do not overload the implant. A particularly dangerous period for loading the implant is from 4 to 6 weeks. During this period, osseointegration (bone formation around the implant) weakens by almost half and the implant may fall out.

Use irrigators in your practice to clean your teeth. We recommend Jetpik irrigators.

After the main stages of dental implantation have been completed, the implant will take root and a permanent crown will be installed, it will be possible to use it as if it were a regular tooth. As for the service life, implants are practically forever (if you follow the doctor's recommendations).

Come to our clinic for a consultation, and we will find a perfect solution for you.
