Replaced old bridges with implants and zirconia crowns

In certain clinical situations, removable prosthetics (a clasp denture) would have been appropriate, but in this case there were indications for raising the bite, so the patient was offered the following treatment plan:

Before starting treatment, perform professional oral hygiene.
Place 9 dental implants: 5 in the upper jaw and 4 in the lower jaw.
Remove the remaining root of tooth 3.4 in a one-stage procedure with implant placement.
Perform dental implant placement using a two-stage technique.
Use local anesthesia during surgery.
Perform prosthetics using a mock-up model.
Fabricate the orthopedic structures from zirconium dioxide, shade bleach-2.

Treatment consisted of the following stages:

        STAGE 1
        
Consultation. Treatment planThe doctor examined the patient, discussed possible ways to solve the clinical problem with her, and prepared a treatment plan.

        STAGE 2
        
Professional oral hygieneBefore the surgical intervention, the patient underwent professional oral hygiene to sanitize the oral cavity and reduce inflammatory processes.

        STAGE 3
        
Surgical stageIn one visit, the doctor placed 9 dental implants and removed the remaining tooth root. The surgery lasted about one hour, after which the patient received medication prescriptions for the rehabilitation period and recommendations on implant care. After implant placement, the patient went to Europe for a month, to her home.

        STAGE 4
        
Scanning. Placement of healing abutmentsAfter about 1.5 months, the patient returned to the clinic to complete treatment. In one visit, healing abutments were placed in the area of the implanted teeth, the upper bridge was removed, and digital scans of the jaws were taken.

        STAGE 5
        
Fabrication and mock-up fittingDuring the same visit, the tooth mock-up was reproduced for the patient, and the doctor transferred the model into the oral cavity. The patient chose the tooth shade, and minor adjustments were made to the future shape and size of the teeth.

        STAGE 6
        
Preparation. Temporary prostheticsDuring the same visit as the previous two stages, the patient's lower-jaw teeth were prepared for veneer placement. The doctor scanned the prepared teeth to fabricate the veneers. The teeth were covered with temporary restorations, and the patient was free for several days.

        STAGE 7
        
ProstheticsOn the fifth day after the last visit, the doctor removed the patient's temporary restorations and placed permanent zirconium dioxide crowns and veneers. Fixation was completed in one visit.

A little less than three months had passed since the first visit. And when the patient looked in the mirror for the last time, we saw more than just a smile. We saw a person who seemed to have returned to herself.

Her eyes lit up. Her shoulders straightened. She began to laugh louder. Her life changed not because she had new teeth, but because all those small and large insecurities that had kept her from living freely for years had disappeared.
